Does the Commander have to be a runner/coach/trainer? Absolutely not! We will provide everything you need in your Commander’s Kit to make this program a success including information on stretching, hydration, proper running form and even lesson plans to be used in the classroom to coordinate with this training program. All you need is a little bit of extra time and a passion to inspire kids.
Is the Final Mile a race? No. While the final mile will be timed so kids will know how much they have improved, the emphasis is on having fun and being healthy. All participants will receive a t-shirt and a finisher medal and each school will receive a banner to hold at the beginning of the race to show their school pride.
